Hollands Welvaren has created a database containing information on more than 50 Dutch chip companies. The database includes revenue, profit, specialization, year of establishment, address, ownership structure, and country of UBO. The database is available for 1,200 euros (excluding VAT) by sending an email to: info@hollandswelvaren.press. Before using the tool, please read the terms and conditions and what exactly you can expect.

The database includes:
- A brief description of the company's area of expertise.
- The revenue generated by companies in the semiconductor industry. Some companies operate in multiple sectors and have not broken down their figures. In such cases, the figure that most closely approximates semiconductor revenue has been used. For smaller companies, revenue figures are often not available.
- Pre-tax profit. For companies operating in multiple sectors, profit figures are often not broken down. These figures are missing.
- The growth in revenue and profit compared to the previous year.
- The number of employees.
- Ownership. This is divided into five categories: publicly traded, founder/employee, industry peer, venture capitalist, and family business. Where available, additional information is provided about who the shareholders/investors are.
- The country where the ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) is located.
- A link to the source of the annual figures.
- The database was compiled in April 2026 based on information available at that time.
- The database is in Dutch.

About Hollands Welvaren
The database was compiled independently by the news outlet Hollands Welvaren. The primary sources are annual reports filed with the Chamber of Commerce, supplemented by information from company websites and/or information requested directly from the companies.

| Display | Revenue, profit, and headcount figures are presented in two different ways: by year (2025, 2024, 2023) and as the most recent year available. The latter can be used, for example, to rank companies based on their most recent figures. |
| Scope | Hollands Welvaren attempted to include in this list all companies that operate exclusively in the potato chip sector or engage in substantial activities within that sector. However, Hollands Welvaren guarantee that this list is complete. |
| Foreign companies | Companies are eligible if they are predominantly Dutch. Foreign companies with a branch here (such as Bosch) are not eligible. Dutch chip companies that have been acquired by a foreign competitor are eligible. Sometimes there is a gray area (as in the case of Frencken), in which case Hollands Welvaren decides Hollands Welvaren its own discretion whether or not to include the company on the list. |
| Resources | Most of the information was obtained from annual reports filed with the Chamber of Commerce or posted on the companies’ own websites. These annual reports are often brief, particularly for smaller companies; in several cases, Hollands Welvaren requested and obtained additional information Hollands Welvaren the companies themselves. This included details such as revenue or ownership. |
| Comments | The "Comments" column contains some technical clarifications, such as how the revenue figure was calculated |
| Revenue | Where available, only the revenue that actually comes from the semiconductor industry has been included. For ASML, for example, this is the total revenue, but for NTS Group, it is only a portion of the company’s total revenue |
| Profit | This refers to pre-tax profit. For many companies that also operate in non-chip sectors, revenue is often broken down, but profit figures are frequently not. In such cases, the profit figure is missing from this list. |
| Staff | The sources for the number of employees vary. Generally, these figures come from annual reports, but sometimes those reports do not provide an accurate picture (for example, because they include holding company figures). Therefore, the figures are sometimes taken from the company’s own website. Sometimes the source varies by year, resulting in an increase or decrease that may say more about changes in data collection than about the actual growth or decline in the workforce. |
| Ownership | It is divided into ... categories. There are often multiple (types of) owners. In such cases, the majority shareholder is identified. The column ............ provides more information about who the (co-)shareholders are. This list is not exhaustive, and the exact share percentages are often unknown. |
